⚛ISO-005 — Decoherence Curve
The Genesis Genealogies Follow a Quantum Decoherence Equation
"As long as G > 0, there is a nonzero equilibrium. Coherence can't hit zero because grace doesn't quit."
Decoherence Mapping

A = 337 | τd = 214 years | Lfloor = 93 years

Domain Specifications
⚛
Domain A — Physics
Quantum Decoherence
Quantum decoherence — a quantum system loses coherence through environmental coupling. The off-diagonal elements of the density matrix decay exponentially as the system entangles with its environment. Described by exponential decay with an asymptotic floor. The floor exists because a persistent external coherence source (grace) prevents total collapse. The decoherence timescale τd sets the rate at which coherence is lost.

Domain B — Theology
Genesis Genealogies
Post-Flood patriarchal lifespans from Genesis 11 (Shem through Moses). Pre-Flood lifespans hold flat at ~912 years (CV 5.9%, p = 0.68 for no trend). Post-Flood lifespans show exponential decline from 600 (Shem) toward a floor. Psalm 90:10: "threescore years and ten." Genesis 6:3: "his days shall be 120 years." The pattern is not gradual — it is a regime change at the Flood boundary.
Section 2: The Mapping
02
The Isomorphic Mapping
Two-regime pattern: pre-Flood constant, post-Flood exponential decay with floor. Six competing models were tested via AIC (linear, power law, step function, pure exponential, exponential+floor, logistic). Exponential+floor wins decisively (ΔAIC = 5.3 over pure exponential).

Section 4: Four Floor Convergences
04
Four Independent Floor Convergences
The asymptotic floor Lfloor is not a free parameter chosen for convenience. It converges from four independent sources spanning 3,400 years — from Moses to modern actuarial science.
01
Decoherence Equation
Best-fit floor parameter from the exponential+floor regression on 14 post-Flood data points.
Lfloor = 93 years
02
Psalm 90:10 (~1400 BC)
"The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years."
70–80 years
03
Modern WHO Data
Global average life expectancy 73–78 years. Developed nations: 78–82 years. Converges on the same floor band.
73–82 years
04
Genesis 6:3 Design Ceiling
"His days shall be 120 years." The hard upper bound — the design ceiling above which the floor cannot rise.
120 years (ceiling)
Section 5: Separator Tests
05
Separator Tests
These four tests are the gatekeepers between Correspondence and Isomorphism. ALL FOUR must pass for Level 3 classification.
✓
Test A — Structural Preservation
The exponential decay with asymptotic floor maps directly from decoherence physics to lifespan data. The key structural features — initial coherence, decay constant, and nonzero floor — are preserved under mapping.
PASS — Structure Preserved
✓
Test B — Non-Arbitrariness
Six competing models were tested. The decoherence form (exponential+floor) wins by ΔAIC = 5.3 — the mapping is forced by the data, not imposed by the interpreter. The floor is independently confirmed by four convergences.
PASS — Mapping is Forced
✓
Test C — Constraint
The mapping rules things out: if lifespans decayed linearly, or followed a power law, or showed no floor, the isomorphism breaks. The model forbids configurations incompatible with decoherence structure.
PASS — Rules Out Violations
✓
Test D — Bidirectionality
Physics predicts theology: decoherence requires a floor if there is persistent external coupling — the lifespans show exactly this. Theology predicts physics: grace preventing total collapse maps to coherence sources maintaining nonzero off-diagonal elements.
This claim carries its own kill conditions. If any of the following are demonstrated, the isomorphism is demoted or destroyed:
›1. Incompatible ancient genealogies: Discovery of independent ancient Near Eastern genealogies with lifespans that contradict the exponential+floor pattern.
›2. Better model without floor: An alternative model that fits the data better without requiring an asymptotic floor, destroying the grace-coherence mapping.
›3. Humans exceeding 120 systematically: Documented populations routinely living past 120 years would break the Genesis 6:3 ceiling constraint.
›4. Genealogies as literary construction: Proof that the Genesis genealogies are purely literary devices with no historical data content.
›5. Pre-Flood lifespan decline: Discovery of a declining trend in pre-Flood lifespans would destroy the two-regime pattern.
›6. Environmental/cultural explanation: Post-Flood decline fully explained by environmental or cultural factors alone, with no need for a decoherence model.
As long as G > 0, there is a nonzero equilibrium. Coherence can't hit zero because grace doesn't quit.
— ISO-005: Decoherence ↔ Lifespan, Faith Through Physics Registry
Every page ends with the same three-part check: what we got right, what we overstated, and what we got wrong.
Epistemic covenant: we present these claims as openly, fairly, and truthfully as we can. The evidence can be checked, the mechanisms can be challenged, the proof burden is named. Where the work moves from how the science behaves to why it means something, the choice is stated. We think the pattern is worth believing, but we will not hide where faith begins.
What We Got Right
Load-bearing claims, clear definitions, and the parts that clearly survived the check.
What We Overstated
Strong direction, but the language ran ahead of the evidence or the proof.
What We Got Wrong
Claims that need correction, tightening, or weaker formulation.
