The Claim
Mathematical truth, moral truth, and the classical attributes of God share 24 independently verifiable ontological properties with zero exceptions. This is not analogy. It is structural identity, testable by finding a single property that belongs to one domain but not the others.
Find one property that genuinely belongs to mathematical truth but NOT moral truth (or NOT a divine attribute), or vice versa, that is not reducible to measurement domain. One genuine ontological mismatch kills the identity claim.
The 24 Properties
| # | Property | Mathematical Truth | Moral Truth | Divine Attribute |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 01 | Necessary | Can't be otherwise. 2+2=4 in all possible worlds. | Can't be otherwise. Betrayal destroys trust universally. | God exists necessarily (aseity). |
| 02 | Eternal | True before and after time. Math predates the universe. | Moral structure predates human convention. | God is eternal. |
| 03 | Immutable | Never changes. π has never drifted. | Core moral structure never changes. Lying has never built stable systems. | God is unchanging. |
| 04 | Simple | Axioms are primitive, not composed from parts. | Fundamental moral truths are primitive. | God is simple (not composed). |
| 05 | Consistent | Contradiction produces explosion — A ∧ ¬A destroys the system. | Moral contradiction produces collapse. | God cannot contradict Himself. |
| 06 | Universal | Same everywhere. No culture where 2+2≠4. | Same everywhere. No culture where systematic betrayal builds flourishing. | God is omnipresent in authority. |
| 07 | Immaterial | Not physical. Numbers have no mass. | Not physical. Justice has no wavelength. | God is spirit. |
| 08 | Foundational | Grounds everything else. Physics runs on math. | Grounds everything else. Civilization runs on trust. | God is the ground of being. |
| 09 | Truthful | Cannot produce false results from true premises and valid operations. | Consequences of alignment are what they are. No negotiation. | God cannot lie. |
| 10 | Perfect | No errors in mathematical truth. Human errors exist; the truth does not err. | No errors in moral truth. Human failures exist; the standard itself is without error. | God is perfect. |
| 11 | Infinite | Mathematics extends infinitely. No largest prime. | Moral depth is infinite. You can always love more deeply. | God is infinite. |
| 12 | Rational | Logos — reason itself. Mathematics is the structure of rational thought. | Morality is rational. Moral reasoning follows structural principles. | God is Logos. |
| 13 | Beautiful | Mathematical elegance universally recognized. Euler's identity. Mandelbrot set. | Moral beauty universally recognized. Sacrifice. Forgiveness. Grace under pressure. | God is beautiful (glory). |
| 14 | Good | Information theory shows directional preference: coherence over noise. | Morality shows directional preference: alignment over deviation. | God is good. |
| 15 | Transcendent | Above physical reality. Math constrains physics, not the reverse. | Above physical reality. Moral truth constrains behavior. | God transcends creation. |
| 16 | Omnipresent | Applies everywhere. No domain escapes mathematical structure. | Applies everywhere. No decision escapes moral structure. | God is omnipresent. |
| 17 | Self-existent | Does not depend on physical reality. If all matter vanished, 2+2=4. | Does not depend on human convention. If all humans vanished, betrayal still destructive. | God is self-existent (a se). |
| 18 | Non-temporal | True before time began. | True before time began. | God is outside time. |
| 19 | Non-spatial | Has no location. | Has no location. | God is not bound to space. |
| 20 | Unique | Only one set of mathematical truths. | Only one set of genuine moral truths. Cultural variation at surface; invariants do not vary. | There is one God. |
| 21 | Omnipotent | Nothing escapes math. Every physical system obeys mathematical law. | Nothing escapes moral structure. Every agent subject to consequences. | God's sovereignty is total. |
| 22 | Self-sufficient | Needs no external support. Mathematical truth doesn't require maintenance. | Moral truth needs no agreement to remain true. | God is self-sufficient. |
| 23 | Ordered | Internal hierarchy. Axioms → Theorems → Applications. | Internal hierarchy. Principles → Virtues → Actions. | God is a God of order. |
| 24 | Generative | Produces infinite derived truths from finite axioms. | Produces infinite derived applications from finite principles. | God creates ex nihilo from His nature. |

Prior Art Assessment
| Thinker | Year | What They Did | What They Didn't Do |
|---|---|---|---|
| Augustine | ~400 | Asserted math truths are eternal in God's mind. | No systematic list, no falsification criteria. |
| Aquinas | ~1260 | Identified ~5–7 overlapping attributes (necessity, eternality, immutability). | Not systematic, not comprehensive, no math-morality bridge. |
| Gödel | 1970 | Modal logic proof of God from "positive properties." | Didn't connect to mathematics itself; didn't show math and God share properties. |
| Poythress | 2015 | Argued math reflects God's glory; listed ~6–8 shared properties narratively. | No table, no falsification criteria, no moral column, theology→math direction only. |
| Thomas Stark | 2018 | Argued math IS God (ontological mathematics). | Philosophical argument, not systematic property matching, no table, no kill condition. |
| David Lowe | 2025 | 24-property table, 3-way correspondence (math / morality / God), falsification criteria, independently derived lists, swap test, Kolmogorov compression argument. | This document. |
Nobody before November 2025 produced a systematic property-by-property table showing structural identity across three domains with testable kill conditions. The closest (Poythress) identified roughly a quarter of the properties in narrative form without falsification criteria.

"Information theory has built-in oughts" is the most contested claim. If someone shows information theory is genuinely normatively neutral — no directional preference for coherence over noise — this row weakens. But Shannon's channel coding theorem contains normative prescription (R < C ⇒ ∃ code achieving reliable communication), which is an "ought" embedded in the definition of optimality.
Mathematical necessity is the most established claim in philosophy of mathematics. Even nominalists struggle with it. The necessity of mathematical truth is as close to philosophically uncontested as any claim in the field.
