Love is binding energy. The strong force overcomes electromagnetic repulsion to hold nuclei together. Love overcomes ego-repulsion to hold relationships together.
Dual Projection
Strong Nuclear Force
- Short-range but extremely powerful
- Overcomes proton-proton repulsion
- Binds quarks into hadrons
- Energy released when bonds form
Agape / Covenant Love
- Intimate but can be fierce
- Overcomes selfishness repulsion
- Binds persons into covenant
- Transformation when bonds form
The Story
"Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends."
 John 15:13
The strong nuclear force is short-range but dominant at close distances. It overcomes the electrostatic repulsion between positively charged protons, holding the nucleus together. Without it, atoms heavier than hydrogen couldn't exist.
Love is covenant binding. It overcomes the natural repulsion between self-interested agents. Without it, relationships heavier than casual acquaintance couldn't exist. Society itself would fly apart.
Both release binding energy when they act. Nuclear fusion releases energy when nuclei combine. Deep relationship releases energy when persons truly unite. Both transformations are profound.
Five Axioms
1. Love is Short-Range
Requires proximity to bind. Cannot act at a distance without mediation (T/R).
2. Love Overcomes Repulsion
The binding energy exceeds the ego-repulsion between self-interested agents.
3. Love is Non-optional for Stability
Without K, all relationships decay. Families, communities, nations require this binding.
4. Love Releases Energy
Genuine connection transformsreleasing creative, healing, or destructive energy.
5. Conjugate to Relationship [K,R]
Love without relationship is fantasy; relationship without love is transaction.
Conjugate Pair: K ? R

Oxytocin, pair bonding
Attachment systems, trust circuits
Attachment theory, bonding
Consensus protocols, byzantine fault tolerance

Kill Conditions
Universal Isolation
All relationships are transactional with zero binding energy.
Nuclear Instability
Strong force insufficient to bind any nucleus heavier than hydrogen.
